  • What is the difference between the 3400 and the 3100?

I would like to put a 3400 in my fiero, but I cannot find a reasonably priced 3400 in the junkyard. The junkyards are full of 3100s though. In order to convert a 3100 to a 3400, do I just need a 3400 block and pistons?
Once I have all the parts I will do a full rebuild so I am just looking for cores.

Yup just block an pistons. Everything else will be the same. Slight differences existed in the intakes and the heads during certian years but they were minor and will not prevent anything from bolting up.

A 3mm larger bore on the 3400 pretty much differentiates the engines.
