I was looking for a stock gen 3 head to flow for the exhaust side and noticed that the non roller rocker head I have here has less metal on one part of the intake around the valve guide. The exhaust guide has a different angle of metal around it as well. I gotta blast it clean and lap the valves to the seat so I can flow it. We are already aware of the 1.72 vs 1.76" intake valve but this shape change is going to do more to the numbers I imagine. Could be interesting on velocity numbers with the smaller seat though...possibly for the better. Eh, ill let you all know what I come up with.
00+ plenums are better than 96-99 3400 plenums. The transition from the plenum to the runners is different, and the 96-99 plenum has a ridge in the number 5 and 6 runners that causes about a 4% difference in flow. If anyone has a stock 96-99 plenum they wanna send me, I can flow test it and post the comparison. I only have a ported plenum here.
Still want a set of small port gen 3 runners to flow test as well.
