Keep in mine, I'm not the swap "Guru" here but could you actually do what could be considered a "3800 swap". For example I have a 2dr 92 GP SE could I just yank out a 3800 out a 92 Buick Regal GS or etc, and just drop it into my GP, since both share similar transmissions ( 4T60 (440-T4) or I'm I missing more of the details?. Would you recommend it as much as a 3400 swap or is it just another brain fart?

3400 SFI. If you have any concerns on weight, the L67 and the LQ1 (3800 SC and 3.4 DOHC) are not good motors to use.
The 3.4 DOHC however would be a damn easy swap since your car had that option. I went this route with my car because weight wasn't a concern to me for the fun I have playing with the motor.
L67swap.com is your place to be though if you wanna go with a 3800.Ben

3400 swap!!! For the money, i am convinced that this engine can't be beat. Plus, it is THAT close to the 3800 any way. and it weighs less, takes up less room, will be easier to work on, cool better, allow you to put on headers, room for a superchager and or turbo. The money you save buy getting a 3400 will pay for some mods to have it run a 3800 (in my opinon, but i'm no expert) out. I mean, my best freind has an Alero with a 3400. all it has is a cold air intake and a cat back magnaflow, and the S.O.B. will run RIGHT THERE with a 3800sc seriesTwo for 2 gears, and it will TAKE an l36. No B.S., i have been with him both times. May be the other cars were not running right, maybe they had lots of miles on them, i don't know, i just am telling you what happened in that experince. Thas just my 2cents.Don\'t hate me because I\'m horny.
