I own an 89 isuzu trooper with the 2.8 and a 5speed. I am extremely surprised that there is as much following on the 60 degree v6 as there is. I am curious though about what kind of potential my 2.8 has. Is my 2.8 different from others? I tryed looking in the family tree but that didn't help at all. Let me know. Thanks

The Isuzu 2.8l is an iron head. It's very similar to the 2.8l offered in S-10 trucks. The main difference is that the starter is located on the drivers side of the block vs the passenger side - at least on the 4x4s.
Any performance mods for an iron head 2.8l/3.1l/3.4l are available for yours as well.

Agreed. A buddy up the street did a 3.4L Camaro swap on his Trooper. All he had to do was drill the block for the driver side starter. But he loves it.
Check out the info in the swap section and check out s-series.org1993 EXT. CAB, 3.4L V6 TBI, 5spd manual. Sonoma
