    Id like to hear some thoughts on this:



    Its not viable for all areas and you need to upgrade the fuel system (at least pump and injectors)

    Lets not talk about if this is actually worth it or not, lets talk about what would need to happen to make this possible on a 60v6 pushrod. Particulary a 3400

    From my inital research it looks like the 22# injectors would need to be bumped up to 30# or so. A walboro 340 fuel pump should provide enough pumping power.

    The big question behind this would be: Would a standard ODBII PCM tuned be enough to get things running right even though we lack wideband O2 sensors?

    Any other thougths and ideas on the technical merits of this are certainly welcome.

    search more, i read an article on a e85 converted malibu. it was done by a college guy. everything aluinum needs to be protected from the alchohol ($$$) rubber parts ned to be upgraded to viton(? and again $$$) e85 specific pump and injectors ($$$) i think the tank had to be e85 compliant also. it seems more trouble than its worth to me anyways.

      But you basically covered the basics.

      Emissions would be a problem too. Im not sure what E-85 puts out for emissions but I am sure the ratio of precious metals in the cat would be way out of wack for E85.

      The amount of testing they have doen is PISS ALL. Try at least a year and then run it for a minimum of another 5 to make sure nothing happens.

        i remeber o lot of pictures of corosion induced by the alchohol. i'd imagine once that inevitably made it into the cylinders it would eventually kill itself.

        i think i would opt for a flexible fuel vehical andlet someone else do the hard work.
