RE: Smaller Starter?....
The newer 3400 starters are smaller and should work just fine.-Brad-

What years should I look for? I've been kinda interested in a smaller starter for my X. Will it fit a very early 2.8? Thanks.Tuning a car is full of compromises. You must decide if you are willing to give up either reliability, performance, or a whole load of cash. Also remember that repairs will seem to come up much more often as you strive for even more performance

Then new compact starters work great. I think they sound much better too.1993 EXT. CAB, 3.4L V6 TBI, 5spd manual. Sonoma
1990 4Door, 3.2L V6 TBI, 5spd manual. 4X4. Trooper

RE: Re: Smaller Starter?....
the downside was waiting so long to receive them, almost 5 months to the day. they do look sweet but many modifications to get them to fit. i will have some pics probably late next week. im still kinda making them fit. lots of work but should be worth it in the end. and thanks to all who responded about the starter. i thought i read it somewhere that there was a smaller one but forgot which motor it came off of.
