  • myths or not?

hi i'm a newbie and i begin to "take a look around my engine".

is it a myth that planned heads improved performance ??

less space between plenum and lower intake, more performance?

ive got a '92 Cavalier Z24 with 3.1L. I've made some intake modification not for performance , for nice sound. Sometimes it really loud and sometimes its like a stock air intake(i dont ear anything) why?

Also, whats a "fuel damper pulsator", somes cars have one and others not, whats difference?

Last question, does 2.8L take more fuel or air to run than the 3.1?

    thx

Planed or Decked heads do nothign for the intake. They do increase performance slightly by bumping compression up a bit.

A modified intake or CAI will often make more noise versus stock. It will only be loud when you are on the gas and the air is really flowing.

Fuel dampers as far as I know were only used on the cross ram intakes on the old vettes and camaros. One TBI had the regulator and the other had the damper. But that may not be the only car with it.

3.1L's take more fuel and air than a 2.8L. Stock VS Stock of course.
