    Disagree. Something is very weird.

You sure someone didn't run a tap into the block and fudge the threads up? Even if you had lock nuts on there is doesn't matter. You should have been able to throw a hundred foot pounds on there and not strip them out.

No, no weird taps in the block, no taps at all for that matter just a thread chase to clean the gunk out. I think I'll look at it all again tonight and see if I notice anything fishy.

Ok well myself and mr. digital caliper just answered that VERY fast. The studs are m10
I need some M11's now but have no clue where to get them. Looking online ARP didn't have a kit for the 3400, unless someone else knows where I can get the hookup I'm just going to get a new set of the torque to yield stock bolts

edit: this thread has been resolved, would have been unnecesary if I wasn't a newb, a new post in pushrod performance has been created regarding head studs etc as I feel a discussion on this is out of the scope of this thread

there is only one hole in the block that has potential damage as well, and it looks like the stud took the brunt of it.

You better run the thread chaser (not a tap) down all of the holes again. Any burrs on the threads in the block from pulling the studs will affect the torque reading when you install the new bolts, and it will be almost impossible to get them torqued correctly.

Yeah, that's a good idea, I'm giving the whole mess a thorough cleaning, I have all kinds of good stuff down there now that I need to fish out before I try round 3.
