  • Con rod weight

    Hey after an exhaustive search through prior posts I couldn't get what I was lookin for. Anyone got the approx. weight in grams of the 3.1's connecting rods?

      I know this isn't exactly what you're looking for, but if you know the weight of the 3400's pistons, I have my pistsons and conrods out (still connected to each other) and I'd gladly weigh it sometime and with some subtraction you could get the 3400's conrod weight. Not sure if the 3400 and 3.1 have the same conrods or not though (do they?).

        shoot.. i never thought of actually finding the actual weight of the conrods.. i just balanaced both ends to all other 5 conrods (ie big end to big end and small end to small end. made a jig for em)

        what did you need the weight for?
        got zap-straps?

          i think they are around 600 grams after i beam polished them

          the 2.8-3.4, 3100 and 3400 all use the same rods. im not sure on the vvt or 3500.

            600 grams? That sounds about right. I'm just figuring in what con rods I'm pickin up.
