  • New to the GM V6 world..

Hi everyone. I recently bought a 1991 Corsica with a 3.1 and a 3 speed auto. I was pretty suprised at the quality of these cars, this one has a very clean body with no rust or anything. But I think one of the lifters isn't charging in the 3.1L. This is my daily driver because I have a modded 5.0L Mustang for weekend cruises. But I like the Corsica despite it being a 4 door, I wouldn't mind it to be faster just to get the local ricers riled up a little hehe

I'm not sure what to start with. I'd like a 3400 swap eventually but what could be done in the mean time? This thing is 100% stock right down to the air box. As for the swap all I see is the 3100 to the 3400 so I wonder how much more work it is to fit a 3400 in a 3 speed 3.1L car?

    thanks
    Steve

Well the 3100 or 3400 is not a "bolt in" but as far as swaps go it is pretty straight forward. You will need a few costom parts and a week or so worth of time to do the swap.

It is well worth it in the end. My buddies cavalier went from say 15 something to a solid 14.5 in the quarter mile.
