  • Teh other EGR plate thread, with actual use: '95<--- '96

With the topend "swap" (That word sucks).....

When Retrofitting intake manifolds with an effort to make older----newer, one may have issues with the exhaust gas recirculation valve fitment. This thread intends to fix the issue. Observe:

When installing, I put a little anti-sieze on the bolt threads, due to how hot the EGR valve can get. The plate bolts are 4mm allen, the EGR bolts are 6mm allen. Be sure to install the plate-to-manifold gasket in the right direction as it "almost" lines up if installed backwards. Just an observation. You WILL need the EGR pipe from a '96-99 car, as the '94-95 pipe LOOKS similar, but is not the same. The '96 pipe was already installed before taking these pics. To remove and install the pipe, use a 7/8 wrench (or adjustable) on the fitting to the rear manifold. Reinstall and line it up with a new gasket for the pipe-to-intake manifold mating surface.

Got this adapter thru this site's store. The quality is excellent, it is quite a beautiful piece. Absolutely no flaws, threads were perfect, obviously this was CNC machined. Came with instructions and part numbers for the gaskets. For the price and ease of install, I'd recommend this to anyone. I no longer get a SES light due to no EGR!!
