Older 3100s also use the 2 seperate sensors. Mine does, and I know Korbendallas's 95 did as well, cause he mentions it in his swap guide.

it shouldnt throw any codes. and should work. i'd assume that the two sensors use the same temp vs. resistance values to provide the right info for the cluster to read right.Colin
