...and didn't the AWD Pontiac 6k come out in '89? It had the 3.1 all along.

Yeah, where have you been? If I still had my old Favorites list, I post a couple links.

I believe the AWD 6000 was introduced in '87 though, and used a 2.8 (obvioulsy) for the first few years, the in '89 the 3.1 was "tested" in the 6000 and Grand Prix chassis'.

i was swaping the crank sensor out on this beast yesterday and i looked up in the general area of the crank and rear knock sensor and i saw a big "T" cast into the side of the block.

          does that mean anything??

could somwone with a "real" 2.8 look for me?

does that mean the 2.8 'W' engines have a 'W' cast into the block? and is there really any difference between 2.8 & 3.1 blocks anyway?

fwiw, my 3.1 'V' TGP engine and my '91 3.1 'T' engine both have that big 'T' cast into the side of the block.

I believe, the 3.1 was available in only Pontiacs in '89. All cars in '90. If it helps any, I once had a '93 Lumina with a 2.8
