3.4 ironhead out of 94 firebird with 78k miles on it. Car was totalled due to cosmetic damage (no mechanical damage by impact). Owner is a friend of mine, asking $1000 for it. I told him to ask $200. What do you all think he should be asking?

200-300. If he gets 1000 though, break out the beers cause thats a miracle! Ive seen dumber people out there though spend too much on stuff.

that's what I thought, I told him I'd take it off his hands for $200, and I'd even be kind enough to pull it for him since he doesn't have a hoist, and he informed me I was full of it... oh well

His loss then. That would have been a good deal for him if you would pull it as well. Guess he is gonna hold on to it for a while.

Not even close to $1000. Shit even with the engine, tranny and ECM it is still not worth $1000.

I got a 3.4L with 100,000 KMS (not miles) with all the accessories attached. for $550 CDN. That is right in the correct price range.

I paid $400 for my '94 camaro with 50K on the clock back in '03. One of my best bargains to date .

Nice to know that your "friendship" is only about $400 shy eh ??? Hell, I have gotten HOSED selling stuff to some of my friends in the past. I *could* have made A LOT more money selling it to someone else but helping out a friend was worth more to me than a few more pieces of paper with dead presidents on it...

                          3.4

Local salvage yards here in Seatle are asking 600 plus core charges for a 3.4 complete, not including the ecm or the alt or the starter etc.
