3100 Starter bolted to block or trans?

Hey, does the starter bolt to the transmission, or to the block on the 3100's - I was thinking about tryin' to make a mount for my 3100 and having a running engine on a stand (don't ask why - I'd just have to pick up a few extra parts to get it done right tho)
