  • Oil Pan Replacement

I have a 91 Beretta 5 spd, I need to replace the oil pan. My question, does the sub frame need to come down? The factory service manual doesn't mention anything about the sub frame, just wondering if anyone had done this job before.

    TIA

Will the outer edges of the pan clear the frame? Only way to know is to look. The sub frame is easy to drop if need be. You should not need to remove it. Just lower it.

It looks like the pan will just make it, however I'm just wondering if the narrow part underneath the timing chain cover will clear the sub frame though.

it can be wiggled out IIRC... just takes some manuevering, and a bit of sticking the tongue out to make it slide by.
