  • 94 3.1 stalling when engine warm????- please help

hope someone can help. my mom has a 94 regal, 3.1 multiport, she bought it new,it now has just over 100,000 on it. starts up no problem, runs and idles great until warm, then it will just stall. if at a light, it will stall, if driving say at 55 it will just cut out and if you let off the gas a little its ok. it may run ok for a bit even when warm, but it will consistantly stall or "buck" at some point , but "only" when warm. the "service engine soon" light comes on about 10 seconds after startup. i checked self-diagnostic computer for codes and all i get is a code 12 over and over. i was told that means "all clear" so to speak. so far i have replaced the o2 sensor, temp sensor{ next to tstat} did the "idle relearn" procedure, which i read about here, and checked fuel pressure with a gauge , which according to "chilton" should be 41-47 psi. when you first key ignition it reads 45 and when running drops to 40 and holds consistant at 40, even when she stalls out. also i just flushed cooling system, replaced tsat and antifreeze. i have a new knock sensor for it but cannot locate where it goes. i thought on the block somewhere but i cant see it.i dont know if its relavent, but both cooling fans come on when jumpimg computer to check codes, but when running and it comes up to temp, only 1 fan comes on?? please help, have to fix this for mom.

sounds like the torque convertor solenoid. Unplug it from the tranny, and test it out. If it doesn't stall anymore, buy a new one.
