  • Anyone interested in design concepts for upgrades?

I dabble a lot with modifying different parts of my car to make stuff work better(just boredom hobby after I built the 3100 I wanted) rite now I've been working on a alternative fuel system for my car, as of rite now it's a PCV Oil catch can that vaporizes Isopropyl Alcohol into Carbon-Hydrogen8-Oxygen and so far haven't tested fuel economy, but it has seemingly cleaned out the valves and combustion chamber because even without running the alcohol in it the car idles smooth enough you don't feel it crank up at first and overall runs better and accelerates faster. Been working with it for a couple weeks and working on making a bigger steel version that connects in a similar manner.

Some people say I'm crazy and some people say it's amazing, but I'm just interested it's a similar design to Shells car Opel they designed that got 376mpg back in 1958? Just as a competition between their designers. I'm back tracking like 50+ years but I have ran the car with just it hooked up and it runs good, smooth, and cold until it runs out of the 4 ounces of Isopropyl in the jar then it just quits like expected, it will drive up the road and stuff so I'm just interested in people's help on making a better long term design for it maybe even a full on gas tank and fuel rail conversion in the future,

Have tubes instead of injectors that run off of just sucking the vapor through the fuel lines by the force of the engines vaccum. Put a air filter on the gas cap area and use it as a bubbler to run in air(that parts questionable due to it being a vaccum leak, but a start for future ideas) it's been interesting messing with this the past few weeks it's a slow process without funds, but interesting non the less.

But yeah any ideas, questions, just helpful stuff in general would be cool, I mean I'm not here to make anyone mad or to change anyone's belief of how the combustion runs or anything, but running on just gases is possible, and cool I've enjoyed messing with it and working on digging into it deeper. Oh and 4 ounces of Isopropyl will run the car about 15-30 miles depending on driving style and traffic.

Also 15-30 miles on 4 ounces does sounds odd but possible due to every molecule being 1 carbon atom, 8 highly combustible Hydrogen atoms, and 1 oxygen atom. Part that gets wonky rite now is vacuum variations that cause lapses in power, so at some points vacuum at high throttle does make it sputter, due to the PCV Valve itself. That part is still a work in progress to figure out, now you might only make it 5 miles on 4 ounces maybe even 1 mile if you hit a bump or go up a hill you can suck in the raw liquid and boom there goes a few miles less you can drive, my setup consists of a few plastic pipes, and rubber hoses and a mason jar, testing If it will drive with just that alone consists of pulling the fuel relay and unplugging the fuel rail from the wire harness and cranking and running it till it stalls out. Without the alcohol. So no gasoline at all. I've been testing it and I'm just enjoying this is really cool and be awesome if others could help test different theories and setups to help speed stuff along, but I understand most people aren't willing to risk something new like this, but I'm all in now that I've got it to work a little I want to make it work a lot, all done on a Frankenstein 60*V6 3100
