  • 2003 Pontiac Montana No Spark

Just did a top end rebuild. Before the rebuild it was running on 5 cylinders. #1 had a stuck intake valve. Got everything back together had spark but would just backfire, pulled all wires and rechecked firing order. Tried again and now nothing, no spark, plugs are dry so I dont think it's getting gas either. Fuel pump primes and has pressure. Any ideas. How does the Ing module ground it's self

If the plugs are dry and you don't have spark I would check your connections at the ICM. I believe the ICM grounds itself through the heat sink it sits on.

Ok I tried to ground it better even ran a ground strap from it to the battery. Still no spark. Did smell fuel this time.

Fuel is a good sign. That means you are at least getting a signal from the crank sensor to the ICM which then goes to the PCM. It doesn't guarantee your ICM drivers for the coils are good. Are you checking spark on the same coil or have you checked each coil for spark?

Which one, the one has been replaced twice both were testing in there range.

The cps is showing 180 rpms when cranking, the one in the block is showing .4 ac volts off and on
