You will find that that one wire will be wrapped in a foil insulation and not be in a pinout on one end of the plug. That's how the L bodies area at least.

The firing order Is 1-2-3-4-5-6 with #1 being closest to the front of the engine and #2 the first cylinder on the opposite bank etc...

Are you talking about the coils?

Are your coils not numbered? Paired cylinders are 1,4 2,5 6,3

There are 3 conductors, in EVERY vehicle that uses this ICM and coils. Two of the wires, purple and yellow are attached to both the crank position sensor, and the ICM, the third, is a shield connected to only the ICM. Make sure this shield is ONLY connected to the ICM, having it grounded or touching metal parts at any other point negates the ability for the shield to reject noise.

I've come across tons of cars that only use two wires on the harness, with no shield wire present.

That's very odd. I have not seen that before and every text I have looked at that deals with this module indicates that there is a shield that is connected to the module.

Every vehicle I've looked at would confirm my previous statement too.

I remember seeing it in my DOHC documentation as well, but I never recall seeing it on one of my engines.

Could a bad cps behind the pulley or cam sensor cause it to run like the video

Every 3100 in a beretta that I've worked on lacked the shielding wire... the 3.1MPFI in my 90 on the other hand has it.

Just unplug the CPS behind the pulley and see if it will run... I've seen a miss wired one cause a no start or issues with idle, but when unplugged it will run fine without it... I think it lacks SFI mode though.
