So for a while, GM Performance Parts made a 3.4L crate motor long block to directly swap into an S10 chassis truck. If you know what I'm talking about, good. Anyways, I have a '85 S10 Blazer with a 2.8L, so I was all like "hell yeah, I'm gonna get this!" Until I found out recently that nobody has that crate motor anymore.
I still want to pursue the 3.4L swap instead of a costly, work intensive, and overpowered V8 swap in my Blazer. What is the difference between the HT 3.4L Crate motor and an L32 motor pulled straight out of a '93-'95 Camaro/Firebird?
I realize that some of these motors have the water pump turning the opposing direction for serpentine belt/FWD applications. Is this something I need to worry about when comparing these two engines?
Thanks in advance.
