  • A brand new stock LX9 timing chain & gears have been sent out for "thermo cycle" cryo treatment, at a cost of $42.66.

I have no idea if this is money well-spent, but at $42, it's not going to break the bank.

    • Parts are starting to trickle back again.

Today I received the cryo-treated timing set, plus a few shiny things that I've been waiting on for a very long time.....

          no kidding! looks really good!

just a suggestion, if you haven't already, paint the lower intake with silver paint to prevent it from oxidizing, it'll help keep everything looking great!

          • Still no major progress on the engine, since I'm still waiting on the cam & springs (which should be here soon).

But the big news is that I bought another V6! I've been needing a basic full-sized truck for a while (who doesn't need one?) and ran across a super-clean 1-owner 2002 Chevy Silverado with the 4.3L V6. Well, the price was right and now I have something to move parts from point A to point B.

I suspect this will make me VERY popular with friends who are planning on buying furniture or moving.

            • What's better
Than having a truck ?....Having a friend with a truck! (This is even more true with boats!)

              • Success! The delivery truck just pulled up with a special package that's been anticipated for months! Standby for some major progress once again!!!!

The only question I have is that the paper receipt on the cam says that it's for a V6 3.1/3.4L. I assume that this doesn't matter, and WOT ordered the right cam for me.

                  • 3.1, 3.4 and 3.5 non VVT all have the same camshaft design. Comp may just not have that listed in their books.
