      So... will the 3100 from a 95 or 96 work in a 92. I mean, since the 3.1 Multi-port and the 3100 is a SFI. Want would I need to change on the 92 Lumina.

      * computer
      * wiring harness
      * injectors
      or will it all work together if the 8th vin number is a T?

        You can run a 3100 SFI on a 3.1 MPFI engine. People worry too much about SFI and MPFI. The SFI is for fuel economy and actually switches to batch (MPFI) at higher RPMs. Do a search on here, or in the engine swap section and you'll find several people on here running 3x00s on old ECMs.

            its actually interesting...in 1994 cavaliers still had the 3.1 mpfi, and the 5 spd was available. in the beretta's 1994 showed the first year for the 3100 sfi motor...and no 5 spd. there was probably enough requests for a 5spd/v6 z24, so they used up the last of the mpfi motors in those.

            and if putting a 3100 or 3400 (almost the same...just like 2.8-3.1), you can run it on your computer that is in the car...i dont know about wiring certain sensors up though.
