  • Fuel Injector Specifications

Having trouble with a1991 Z-24 with a 3.1l. Seems to be narrowing down to the injectors, five of the six are ohmming out at 12.9-13.0ohms. The last one is around 6.8ohms. Several sources say they should ohm at 11.8 and flow 162cc/min at 3bars. These are the original injectors and have 17084888 stamped on them. I also have a set of injectors from a 1999 Venture that all measure out at 12.9 or 13.0 ohms, these readings are all at ambient outside temperatures(low 30's F). I do not have the exact numbers on the Venture injectors, but they should be one of three numbers: 17113573, 17121705, or 25318440. None of the sites that had info on the 4888 injectors had any information on the other three numbers. Anyone here have any experience or knowledge if the 1999 Venture injectors will work in the 1991 Z-24? Thanks, in advance.

depending on temps, between 12 and 14 ohms is a normal range for the injectors.

    3.1 injectors flow 16.7 lb/hr
    the 99 3400 injectors are noticably higher, i believe 19 lb/hr.

that's almost a 14% difference... which is very close to the limit of what the ECM will allow the O2 sensor to correct for. if the calibration were changed to match, it wouldn't be a problem.
1995 Monte Carlo LS 3100, 4T60E...for now, future plans include driving it until the wheels fall off!

Just an update, a new Delphi (not rebuilt) of the appropriate flow,to replace the one obvious bad injector, resolved all of the issues i was having with the car. Now it works just like it used to work. Thanks for the help.
