  • LX9 Coolant Lines

I'm doing a RWD conversion on an LX9 and I've been mix and matching parts to make it fit. I've lost track of the coolant lines in the process.

I have three coolant lines coming off the engine, one off the water pump, one from directly behind the thermostat (black), and another (silver) running from behind the thermostat to the opposite end of the LIM. Which ones do what? Do I cap one off or loop one into a T? I will not have a heater for a while (or ever if it ends up being a track car).

    Here is how mine are...

The heater core return pointing to the right in your pic is tapped and plugged. Not used at all.

The bypass line pointing up has been removed and the hole tapped (i think 3/8 NPT), it has a 3/8 NPT to 5/8" Hose fitting threaded in and loops down to the water pump's heater core outlet.

No issues. I drilled and tapped the LIM for the CTS in the stock 3400 spot and even at the track it stays under 200 with a V8 radiator.

If you need pics let me know.

Awesome, thanks. I'd love to see pics, do you have a build thread somewhere here?

My LX9 is staying mostly stock for now. A little under actually with the older UIM. I sawed up the LX9 UIM when I was thinking I'd put it in a Trooper. :/
