  • Converting 8mm rockers to 10mm?

I seem to have the hardest time locating a near new or new set of 10mm rocker arms. Is there a source for them? How expensive? In the meantime I did recently buy some really cheap that were supposed to be 10mm and ended up being 8mm. My car originally took 8mm stock but after a head mix up when I got ported and polished one's, they are now 10mm. I took one of 8mm rockers and compared them to a pretty worn out 10mm rocker I had laying around and I wondered if either one or both of these solutions will net me a set of 10mm rockers that are very close to new. The first question is can the hole in the roller be widened with a drill press to accept the 10mm studs. The 8mm rockers have a hole that is ~.336" and the 10mm rockers have a hole that is ~.400". That's not much material to remove so I'm wondering if that would be a feasable solution? The 2nd question is wether or not the whole bearing/roller part could be swapped without being damaged by using a press. I have some junk rockers I wanted to fool around with and see if either of these methods would work without causing damage to the bearing or whole rocker. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks

Well I took it upon myself to press them out and swap the 8mm rollers with the 10mm one's. It's kind of tedious but works perfectly. I'm now about a 1/4 of the way through with having a set of swapped rocker arms. If anyone is interested in pics of them disassembled I snapped a few.

Well here they are after tearing the 8mm and the 10mm one's down, cleaning everything up, swapping relevant parts and putting them all back together. These started as 8mm rockers and are now 10mm.
