  • CTS Tapping

I somehow manage to lose my tap set somewhere and need to buy the tap to rethread the CTS sensor for the lx9 rear head.

This is the sensor I am working with:

Anyone know the specs on what it needs to be bushed down to? It's a two pin, otherwise I'd buy the one from british conversions.

Just buy a LX9 sensor, they are already two pin.

I used a stock 3500 sensor on Roberts build since he still had the rear corner 1 wire head sensor for his dash and just had the two pin sensor for his 2000 GA ECU.

I drilled and tapped his 3500 head to fit the old style 1 wire sensor and then use the one above in the head

No problem, I wish my 96 wasn't the three wire sensor because it would be so much easier to get a new sensor if this one I had modified does die... I'd have to order it from BCC or have one made here at work again.

All the 3500 swaps I've done that use the 3 pin, I just mod the T-Stat neck and never looked back. Only a few older cars I've done and out of habit I've just used the modified T-Stat housing method. Habits can be good and bad at times. haha

I drilled a spot for a bung and orientated it as needed in the housing.

If your referring to my picture... that fits with no issues... They are one off MMS 3400 headers that Robert got and they fit the thermostat housing like any other set, if not better than the S&S ones since I know mine touched at one point.

Is there enough space to drill where the 3400 sensor was? Because that wouldnt be a bad idea to do sometime.

Nope, plenty of room, way more room than mine too.... I can't put my SS headers on a motor on a stand because they hit one of the bolt that hold the engine to the bracket, I have to move it in order to put them on.
