I have a 2000 Olds Silhouette. The 3400 went out and I found a good buy on a 3500 engine. $500 for a 22k mile engine. Bought the external crank trigger, ECT sensor extension harness, ported upper 3400 intake manifold and 65 TB. Have it in and running. Problem is I have a high idle. With the 65 TBit idles around 1150. With a stock TB around 950. The idle does not really bother me so much, but it wont pass an emission test. They are looking for the readiness monitors to show they have passed. Any ideas?

I'd have it hooked up to a scanner and see where the IAC counts are at. Are you sure there are no vacuum leaks?

This link might help you, but I just went out and drove it 50 miles of combined city and highway miles to allow the computer to do it's thing after my GMC truck failed inspection following a battery disconnect for repairs.

What is the best way to check for a vacuum leak? I will try to get it on a scanner to check IAC next week.
I drove this thing 500+ miles and when it goes to do the readiness monitors, it wont do the EVAP or Catalyst. It needs to idle, but it throws a code P0507. SES does not come on.

What tb did you get? I just had the same issue but with a lx5, the TPS was off on the mounting and read 33% at idle.
Sent from my iPhone using my iPhone at work cuz I have nothing to do
