  • 3500 intake gaskets....

I know the 3100/3400 motors have problems with the intake gaskets, does the 3500 too?

I've already got my upper intake off, and the engine isn't even in the car yet, should i go ahead and change them?

they are better than the original 3400 ones but it might be a good idea to do it anyways.

how many miles are on the engine?

both my 3500's gaskets looked ok when i took them apart, one had under 700 miles and the other was around 53K miles. If you are going to change them then i'd use the metal Felpro ones just to be sure you won't have a problem down the road.

The motor supposedly had 38K, but I have no way to verify that. I just don't like te idea of a ticking time bomb under the hood when I'm swapping the motor so I can have a reliable DD.

That's the way I think, and that's why I would change them to be safe if it were my car. Piece of mind is cheaper than a tow bill.
