  • Equinox and 3500 shared parts?

I'm trying to figure out if my 2005 LNJ 3400 from an Equinox shares the heads and lower intake manifold of the LX9 3500. I did find this thread

    http://60degreev6.com/forum/showthre...nd-the-G6-3500

which states the heads have the same part number, so does that automatically mean the lower intake must be the same? Is there anywhere that this information is cast onto it? I know it has an 04 marking in the corner.

Does anyone know any other useful parts that could be shared? (like bottom end components)

Basically I was thinking about a future 3500 top end swap but if I have the parts already well then great! (This motors going in my Fiero, it's not even done and I'm looking at upgrades already!)

I imagine you would have to go by part numbers for the LIM. I also imagine the LIM would be the same between engines if the heads are the same since. The 04 means that it was cast in 2004 (for 2005 model year).

Ah, I've always wondered about this. My LX9 was supposedly from an 05 Malibu but the stamp on the LIM said 04 so I figured the junkyard was wrong on the year. Makes sense now. I was more concerned on whether or not I got the steel crank (I did!).

Sorry OP I can't answer your questions.

Yeah, if you think about the whole model year thing it makes sense. At my work (Keystone RV) in a few months we will be doing model year change where we will start building 2012 model year units even though it's still 2011, as will the car manufacturers. My 94 Ranger has a build date in the last quarter of 1993 if I remember correctly, same thing with my 92 Z34 (except 1991 of course ).
