  • 3500 heater core routing question

On my old 3400 Fiero I deleted the stock heater core to water pump engine line and just merged the heater core out to the radiator out line going back to the water pump. This worked very well.

With the 3500 I tapped the thermostat neck heater core port and installed the coolant temp sensor. The heater core to water pump line is mocked up like my old 3400 I described above. Can I use the engine water pump return line to go straight to the heater core?

i imagine this will slow warm up times a bit because the heater core water will have to warm up too, but it will make my heater work fast.

Here are some poorly drawn pics using paint from a sweet shot of IsaacHayes' engine bay to help get my point across.

    Any suggestions? Thanks, Blake
