Not so long ago i swapped the top end parts from a 1999 3400 engine Lumina onto my 1997 3100 Monte. Idea was to gain some MPG and possibly some performance. Upper and lower intake mainofolds, heads, and the larger throttle body were used as well as a 60deg.v6 EGR deleted MEC.
Now i'm hearing that i should have also installed the 3400's cam to complete the upgrade. I'm told i left a lot of horse power out of the swap by not doing this cam swap.
Any truth here?
