I want to say that when I removed that plug from my 3500 water drained out, so it is a plug for the water jacket. I know the plug I removed I used the port for my 1 wire temp sender - but I could be mistaken and I used a different plug for the temp sensor. I can check when I get home, if that spot has the temp sensor then it is not oil. If I still have a plug in there then I'm not sure.1991 Grand Prix GTP LX9swap/Getrag 284 --- SOLD =(

I'm going to have to go with jmgtp on this one and say coolant. Reason being when we pulled the 3100 out of the Achieva we pulled those same plugs on each side to drain even more coolant out of the block. I bet that plug at the 11 o'clock position above the oil filter flange is an oil feed, though...-60v6's 2nd Jon M.

Guess I'll take the starter out (again) and re-use my old T fitting. Haha, imagine I would have pulled the motor again cause I had no oil pressure, meawhile the sending unit sits in a water jacket. HAHA. n00b.11.92 @ 122 MPH 3400 91 Cavalier Z24 Intercooled S/C. -totalled-
