  • 1997 3100 alt. brackets

    Here i have 3 items that i'm having a fit remembering where they go exactly. ( I know pre-disassembly
    pictures would have helped). Lil help if you please all..........Tom

    The big bracket is an engine hoist mount for the opposite corner of the engine by cyl 6. It bolts onto the side of the head.

      Ok. The engine pulling mount i can leave off. How about the spacer and the short bracket with the nut welded onto the end......Tom

        The "L" bracket looks a lot like the alternator support. I believe the long alternator bolt goes through and threads into the captured nut on the bracket and the other end is on the intake? Correct me if I'm wrong here.

          Yeah, kinda looks like that. And the spacer may actually be a bushing to go into the alternator case for a bolt to go through...?

            yea the ''SPACER" is a bushing that goes in the alternator. and the bracket connects the alternator to the lim. as for the engine hoist mount on some setups like berettas theres in one on the trans side that just bolts on and can be removed but theres also one that mounts under the alt mount and is needed as a spacer.
