  • 1981 2.8L idle and timming please

    Hey all,
I have a 1981 Buick Skylark with a 2.8L V6 inside, auto transmission, non california emmision.
I do need to know what the RPM at Idle should be and at how much the timming should be set.
I know these maybe simple questions and there should be a sticker on the right turret but that sticker has been removed and the original engine in this car was the 2.5 L Iron duke so I have no idea.
If someone has a source for reproduction stickers I would like to know also
    Thanks for the help Guys

i can't speak for 1981, but for 1982 there are a few combinations...

    non-HO: 600 in drive
    non-HO w/ A/C 800 in drive

    HO: 750 in drive
    HO w/ A/C 900 in drive

timing should be 10* @750RPM with the vacuum advance disconnected and i believe you are supposed to disconnect the 4-wire plug from the distributor as well.
1995 Monte Carlo LS 3100, 4T60E...for now, future plans include driving it until the wheels fall off!
