I noticed my 1997 3100 Monte and my sister in laws 2004 throttle body Chevy S-10 large v-6 ( 4.3 ? ) had the same looking MAF and air temp sensors on the same snorkle. So I swaped them into my 1997 3100 Monte, everything hooked up nicely and drove it for a week. I noticed no changes in anything, mpg, idle, top end, and i thought i would...Explain why no changes where noticed......Tom

Air flow is air flow, air temp is air temp. Why should they make unique parts when the inputs are the same? They simply make the air flow sensor have the ability to measure a given amount of air that exceeds the engines capability and voila! You can use that sensor for a wide range of applications. Beyond that, most air flow sensor differences have to do with mounting once you get past the circuit design.

all the air temp sensors are the same... im running a Syclone/Typhoon air temp sensor on my car now, its the same as the TGP... Its metal and is threaded so it screw into my turbo boost pipe... basicly any thing from late 80's and newer uses the same intake temp sensor.
The MAF on the other hand they are the same sensors as long as the pipe size is the same... all the 3" MAF are the same as one another, all the 3.5" MAF are the same as one another. they are interchangeable as long as the MAF housing size is the same... they are all calibrated the same for the same sizes.. GM uses the same parts across the board... A Z06 Corvette has the same radio as a chevy truck and every other chevy/Pontiac/GMC ect.. its called platform sharing... GM is not the only one who does this.
