    Engine weight comparison? any sites?

    I am searching for some info to find the weight differences between GM engines.

    I would like to estimate as close as possible what my new GVWR would be since I took out the 2.4 and swapped in the 3500?

    Any Ideas?

    3rd Gen Cavy has 3500 Installed!

      That would have to be fully loaded down to the hilt max weight. Otherwise your Cavy would weigh more than either of my cars. You should go by the curb weight, which is pretty much the car only weight, full fluids and with no luggage or dead bodies in the trunk, ect. According to wiki:

      Curb weight
      Base 2,562 lb (1,162 kg) - 2,784 lb (1,263 kg)
      Z24 2,749 lb (1,247 kg)

        ahh maybe thats why PSMSCAN was so inaccurate when I tried 3850lbs and a run in second gear lol
        I know its not accurate, but thought it would be closer haha.

          Wouldn't that be nice, lol. Is that supposed to be estimated WHP or at the crank?

            How much weight difference you think from 2.4 to 3500, 1 or 2 hundred pounds?

              It really doesnt say.
              I am messing with it to see if it sees changes with my tuning.
              Though not accurate, I am hoping to see if my tune is better or worse between changes.
              I have a dyno day coming up, but its not really for tuning, only 2 runs and no time in between

                A 3500 weighs 340lbs (http://60degreev6.com/forum/showthre...l-LX9-Weigh-in)

                I doubt the 2.4 is that much lighter than it, and definitely not more than 100lbs.

                  I was hoping that wiki or ebay motors could provide some sort of wieght or shipping weight at least, but I couldn't find anything.
