  • Malibu Engine Mount?

I read somewhere on a site that the 3100 engine in the Malibu's, are the only ones that have the engine mount above the timing chain cover, is this true? So if it is, say I got an engine from any 3100 car, I guess I would have to make some custom engine mounts?

Or easier yet, swap timing chain covers with the one from your Malibu so you know it's the right one. That's what I've had to do with this Achieva I'm putting a 3400 in.

Berettas also came with the side mount. But yeah, do what Jon said and it'll be cake.

Not related to above but I haven't figured out how to post new stuff yet.
Question: On my 3500 cover, at the top there is a half round opening with three 10mm holes around it, to the right of the alternator and above the water pump. What is that for?
        Thanks,
        Brian

I think all 3400 are drilled to get the side mount.
