  • can i do this or did i just make a massive mistake

well i'm putting engine in my friend's 1999 olds alreo. it has a 3.4L in it. i got a engine from a 2002 montana van. i read up on the site here and found that i may have to swap the cams(different trigger rings.). can i just swap and cams and such? or are there other sensor changes i need to know about? cause this would be a $1000 mistake(bought the montana motor for) if i can't use it. any help would be great thank you.

so the trigger ring changes don't matter just the sensor?

Doesn't matter on either. I've used different sensors with different rings and never had an issue.

your best bet is to drop in the sensor from the old engine, that way you know you have the right connector and your wire harness will fit right.

            cam swap is not needed.

Are you swapping your old injectors and upper intake over?
