pushrods too short??

i talked to my mechanic recently and to refres some memories
my custom built 3.1 got the block ruined cause of wiped out cam bearings
fast forward to now
he started putting it together the engine and finds that the pushrods are too short and he doesnt know why
could he have gotten a gen 3 block and that my flat tappet lifters are what is too short compared to the roller lifter that a gen 3 block uses

i found out what the deal was everyone
it is a gen 3 block so that my mechanic got by accident
lucky me
although i needed longer pushrods to use gen 2 lifters i now have the option of switching to roller lifters and cam anytime i want
can afford it right now
but i guess its good it happened
just thought id let everyone know
