Iron head 3.4 fuel injectors

I've been looking around the internet, and it looks like injectors for an iron head 3.4 are the same style and use the same connector as the injectors for a gen 2 aluminum head engine. The 3.4s flow 17 pounds, while the 2.8/3.1 is 15 pounds, and both should be at the same (43.5 psi?) pressure. I know if you increase injector flow rate the computer needs to be tuned, and I was going to get a custom chip from the store anyway when I do all the work I have on the board.

My question is this: would I benefit from installing the 3.4 injectors on my engine with the following mods—

• Ported gen 2 intake
• Ported gen 2 heads with 3500 valves
• Thinner head gasket (raise compression to around 9.4 from 8.
• 1.6 rockers

i'm fairly sure the injectors in the Gen 2 3.1 are 16.7lb/hr...

and the electrical connector is definitely the same.

You probably won't max out your stock ones with those mods...

I'm hitting 93 duty cycle on mine, with a large port intake swap, large plenum, 65mm tb, and 2.5" mandrel straight through exhaust. The difference between the runners on my intake manifolds is huge, porting would never reach that..

Save up for a 3x00 swap.

I bought them off a guy on here, had a local machine shop give them a once over and put in the valves. The intake came from WOT-Tech.

that looks to be a very mild port job, just curious how much the bigger valves helped.

I didn't get any flow numbers. He said he'd gasket matched them. We'll see what's what once they're installed.

As a sidebar... but still very much along the lines of this very topic... this is an interesting and unusual video view of a strobe lighted valve train at various RPMS (probably not attainable for stock GM V-6 engines) but one that stresses the importance of having the proper strength of springs(s) to close the valves ...and keep them that way when they need to be... instead of bouncing open
