I bought a 99 Grand Am GT with the 3400 that was said to have a cracked head... I have a 97 3100 from a Monte Carlo that has a broken camshaft... Theoretically, I can put the 3100 heads on the GA 3400 right? I am not looking for any performance as its going to be my roomates first car...

Ok Sappy, I am ready to check out in your store... However I need headgaskets and head bolts also... Since they are 3100 heads, I should get the 3100 head bolts and 3100 head gasket set also right? Or do I need to go 3400 on those? I havent done anything this custom before so I need all the help I can get... If this needs to be takin to PM it can...Alex (Big Al) Walker
someday GM will pull its collective heads out of their collective asses and listen to us... or go bankru... oops.

You will want 3400 head gaskets for a 3400 block. The 3100 head gasket uses a smaller bore size. Head bolts are all the same minus 1 thing. most sets are all the same style bolt, and the monte carlo and some others use a set that has all the same style minus 1 bolt that has a nut on top for something else to bolt into.
If you need exhaust gaskets and such, the head gasket set might be the way to go to get the other parts needed.Ben
