  • SandRail ITB 3400 dragster Reving over 8,000 RPM!

Spoke with someone that was at Nixa Missouri at a drag strip and saw a sandrail/dune buggy type vehicle with a 3400 bolted to a powerglide transmission, with ITB's, and it revved over 8000 RPM. I forget what he said it ran in the 1/4 but it was single digits. Said it belonged to some machine shop or something around there.

I need to talk to the guy again, But does anyone else know abhout this?

wonder how long it lasts between rebuilds
I didnt know that sand rails were dragsters lol.
8k is amazing, especially out of a 3400.

I imagine thats a pretty decent setup for drag racing, most of its weight sits on its rear end, and its super duuper light. Just throw on some slicks and 9's here we come!
