  • 3500 cts?

hey guys i have a 3500 swapped into my 99z24 and need to run 2 coolant temp sensors. i have the one in the rear head for the pcm but i need a second for the gauges (im piggy backing the cav pcm to run my gauges) can i tao the lim in the same place as a 3400 is is would that be a problem. it needs to be 3/8 npt

Yes, i would tap the LIM just like the 3400 has.

In my 3500 i had a 3 wire 3400 sensor machined to fit the rear head, it took them 2 tries but it works...

Run a 3 wire in the place where you are going to tap in the thermostat housing. That's what I'm running. 96 beretta will have the right CTS if you need to look one up at a parts store.

I'm not sure if the one that comes in the 3500 reads exactly the same as the older sensors... does it? I thought someone had issues with that...

i have the 3500 2 wire sensor wired to the pcm and i need another two wire for the cav pcm. im kinda confused as to why i should run a 3 wire in the lim and the two in the head? i saw in the sticky about tuning one down to fit but kinda wanted two sensors.

On my car, 2 wire goes to the ECM, then a 1 wire in the head goes to the gauges... So I put a 3 wire in where the 3400 spot goes. 2 sensors in one...

Does the Cav PCM take the input from 2, two-wires, and then output the signal to the gaugues? Mine the gauges get the signal right from a 1 wire sensor...

na the cav uses the one 2 wire. so unless there were a three wire that fit the rear head looks like ima tap the lim.

Only problem I see with a NPT adapter is the sensor tip is not in direct coolant flow path. So it might be slow reading.
