investigate some but dont dig too deep... I hate to see you waste time if it is something I can't edit.
I can only see 4 tables MAX... I'll post on Powrtuner and get a hold of Jerry or Eddie to see if there is something else blocking. They have the tools to unlock the bin further.

no info from Powtuner.com yet...
How do you have this harness installed? Is it the complete Grand Am setup? Ignition cylinder and all? maybe we should try it with the VTD enabled and see what happens.

3400 3100, the mafs are the same...
it will fire injectors with that unplugged. VTD is Vehicle Theft Deterrent, the thing I disabled... What is the Cavalier C100 plug?
We may need to turn VTD back on and it might work.

I figured I'd throw out a couple of thoughts here, and 3400-95-Modified, hopefully you can comment on this to see if I'm barking up the right tree.
The 3400 harness has power feeds from the ignition cylinder that need to have power at specific times (run/crank, accy/run, etc) or it won't function properly. Since he says he's getting only 2V at crank, I'm wondering if this is where the problem lies.
I'm currently redoing my swap with a Grand Am harness and ECM (had previously done it with a 95 F-body 3.4 ECM), and I remember sifting through these hot feeds to make sure I got the right ones, but right now I can't put my hands on my notes.

Anything and everything info wise regarding a possible wiring glitch would be great... He is getting ready to send me the ECM back so we can test if the VTD needs to be enabled for it to work... And if this can be fixed by simply checking/fixing one of those wires then that would be awesome.

bummer, well let me know if that makes any difference... I'm assuming its going to only allow you to start it for about 30 sec like a factory GA and we will still need to add in the VTD setting back to stock.

Bah, just build a 555 timer and a voltage regulator to send the right signal to the PCM to fool it... Ratshack has the parts... hehe. But that's just me...

I doubt a 555 timer can replace what the BCM is needed for... Also how is OBDI still superior... I always see people posting about never going backwards with technology... It seems to me that people are just afraid of OBDII because it's just new, rather than it being less superior.
Until the day you give me something that you can do with OBDI that is not available with OBDII and is a extremely viable and necessity to performance then maybe I'll stop backing it so much.

this is what i found on GAGT.com to disable the passlock
maybe something like this if you have the ignition cyl. but you would prob still need the BCM.
hahaha id love to see someone OBD-1 swap a 5th gen Grand Am.
i wonder if setting the VTD to disabled would involve going through the security relearn routine. which can take anywhere from 10 minutes to 30Last edited by geldartb; 10-09-2009, 03:25 PM.sigpic
