  • Which sensors are needed for the 7730 ECM?

    I am getting close to finishing up the bottom end of my Hybrid build for my Fiero. I am using a 3.4 block, 3400 top end, and a 7730 ECM. I am getting ready to start on the engine harness. Now I need to make sure I have the correct sensors selected so I don't end up plugging a hole I need. I beleive I do not need the crank sensor for the reluctor wheel at the harmonic balancer. I do need the crank sensor in the block and I think I need the cam sensor as well as the standard oil pressure sensor and temperature sensor. I also need one of the many EGR valves available but I am not sure which one....

    Any input would be appreciated...

    you need the crankshaft position sensor (middle of the block), seperate harness runs from it to the ICM, not in the main harness.

    you'll need the oil pressure sender (switch or sender depends on your gauges/dummy lights).

    Throttle position sensor, IAC motor, Coolant temp sensor, intake air temp sensor, MAP sensor, O2 sensor, knock sensor, VSS and i think that's it...
    Past Builds;

    1989 Camaro RS, ITB-3500/700R4. 263WHP/263WTQ 13.52@99.2 MPH
    Current Project;
    1972 Nova 12.73@105.7 MPH

      This may sound odd but for which year/make/model sensors should I be looking for?

      My heads are off an 02 3400, Pistons are 96 Transport van, block is a 95 Camaro. The 7730 ECM will originate from a Beretta (I think) but will be re-programmed.

      Is there a difference in the sensors or are they all pretty much the same across all years and ECM's? I know that my Oil Pressure and Temp sensors are fairly specific to my car (86 Fiero) to run the gauges correctly but as for the rest, I am in unknown territory....
