  • When did GM start using "push lock" efi fittings

Such as on the fuel rail of my 2005 malibu 3500 motor? A few more female-to-female ~10-30" hoses like what would have came on this and I'll be all set...

The male hard line they snap on to look like what ford had been using under the car at filters and inline pumps for years..... like what's on the top of these in this picture of adapter fittings.

One side of my fuel filter is like that. The two lines by the firewall (feed and return) use the quick disconnects that you use that special tool to unhook. 1994 Beretta. I'm not sure when they started.

Killer! So I should be able to salvage yard hunt and get some more female to female lines, ~10-40" long.

The rubber lines attach to the male parts on the firewall, but the other end that goes to the fuel rail are not like that. Only on end has the female part. The other is crimped to a metal line that goes to the fuel rail.

Crimped permanent, so it won't come apart, as the metal line is part of the fuel rail? Only one I've really played with is my 3500 and it certainly comes loose at the rail, same female disconnect at both ends of that line.

The metal part comes off, one goes up to the FPR, and the other goes into the rail, I'm pretty sure they unbolt, but I can't remember what the other side looks like. Then the metal part is crimped over the ruber hose that goes up with the female ends on it that attaches to the fire wall metal male parts. I'd have to go to my car (cant at work) to verify.
