Gen 2 Rods

Late night thinking and some influence from drinking got me thinking about the 3.1mpfi....

What are the 3.1's connecting rods comfortable max hp/tq ratings? Would shot peening them really be a huge benefit to them or should I look into using another type of connecting rod and have them machined?

I have not had one snap, bend, or fail on me yet, but I probably will in the not so distant future. Just looking for some in depth help/info/food for thought to maybe prevent a once expensive engine from failing.

This is for the gen2, not 3100.

why did you photoshop a 2.8 plenum to look like a 3.1?

2.8-3400 all use the same forged rods, i'd guess 400 HP is about the limit w/o detonation or other issues in the engine.

So the rods are the same? Identical? I thought at some point they changed?

Well good, I'll just peen them and reuse them.
