I had speed on efi-live so maybe it could deal with multiple streams. I don't know anything about it anymore. the yahoo addy you have on the a1.ads file still good? Ill send you all the stuff I have, though I don't think it works but maybe it will help.

oh, wow, thats absolutely filled with all kinds of nonsense... but mark was right, it does have a heartbeat according to this XML... well i'll see what he thinks of it.

I take it the heartbeat is what makes it work between streams? I can't get V4 to work with any settings as it connects but says there are packet errors galore.

from the way mark described it to me, the heartbeat is what allows the different modules in the car to communicate with each other. does the 94-95 LQ1s have other modules? i think it might have radio, but does it have a BCM?

I will have to look at the manual, but from what I have found there is only the ECM.

mark got back to me, and from what i have shown him, there isn't a heartbeat. but the disable communications command might need to be sent to silence the ALDL line before being able to get data

it took long enough, but here's the ADS for 94-95 LQ1s...

two interesting things i found:

5 speed option
GM was planning on putting the LQ1 in the A-Bodies.
can anyone say olds 442 with a 3.4 and probably a 5 speed?

and i don't know who can, but we need to be able to upload ADS files...

tps, maf, and O2 work. RPM didn't, but I didn't do a long test cause its 4:30 am, and I forgot to connect the strut brace or close the hood. Ill go back out around 7:30 when I go to the machine shop and see what all works and what doesn't. I still get packet errors too but I don't know what it means.

packet errors could be a lot things; bad connection from from the cable, the commands not being set up perfect, the ECM being junk, etc....

and how fast do the errors roll in, around 10 per second?

I didn't time them. Ive swapped ECMs and thats all the same so I doubt its junk. Cable never had problems on the other cars and this still works so I don't know what the problem is.

then there is probably some type of command error.

try sending the disable communications command about 10 times and see if the number quits going up. if so, then its sending extra info from the other modules on the line, and that should silence them...
