you will probably have to change heads and all, i know theres a difference between iron head 2.8s and aluminum head 2.8s and 3.1s and i know you cant put a distributer/carb intake on a fi/dis motor.... im not 100% sure on all this, but im sure someone will chime in soon who knows more then me

btw, wheres the pics of the 47 chevy?!?!

Its a RWD engine, therefore it has iron heads. There are aftermarket manifolds out there (Edelbrock comes to mind) that bolt up to the iron heads. This would allow you to run a distributor and carb, therefore basically eliminating all wiring to the engine, with the exception of wiring for sensors/gauges. Is that what you are basically trying to do?

Yes Brad, thats what I want to do, a few guys tell me it can be done, eighter way, then a few say its will coast more to have a new harness built, I am between a rock and a hard place on this right now! I do know if I went to a stock manifold (2.8, 1985,) the darn 2 barrel carb will cost about $5oo.
